Acid Washing

acid washing of the pool
Do you have white stains inside your pool? Does your pool look wasted down and old? Then hire an acid wash today. Acid wash is one of those lesser known pool cleaning services, but that does wonders to every surface it touches. It’s chemical reaction and careful procedure allow the pool to look as good as new. It brings out the spark and color that your pool needs. In case you are a client that is considering of selling their property, acid wash is also a great, affordable option to add resale value and appeal.

Professional service
Acid washing is definitely not the type of thing you want to try yourself. While we have nothing against Youtube DIY tutorials, given the chemicals that are used in the acid washing process, we recommend to leave this to a professional. At Tulsa Pool Cleaner we are patient and careful during the whole procedure. We make sure that the pool is properly drained and during the application of the solution, we are attentive to every detail. When it’s time to scrub, no spot is left behind. Thanks to our specialized professional equipment, we can leave your pool spotless, all in an efficient, reliable manner.

Benefits
Acid washing is a great way to get rid of algae and minerals that have accumulated in your pool Even when you have a pool filter and have monthly maintenance service, there are certain algae and minerals that can start gathering inside your pool. The benefit of an acid wash is that it removed everything! Even those hard to get dirt stands or that whitish chloride stains that you can find on the floor and walls of your pool. Another added benefit is that you can avoid retiling or re-plastering, which are much more expensive procedures.

Safety at all times
If muriatic acid is in direct contact with the human body, it can be extremely dangerous. Amongst the negative effects that it can have on a person are: second degree burns, irreversible eye damage and corrosive mucous membranes. That is why this procedure requires a strict safety protocol at all times. Our crew wear specialized gear, for head to toe, at all time. We make sure to delimit the pool with yellow tape, so that nobody goes near. Another really important safety measure if the rinse afterwards. We use an industrial high pressure hose for these circumstances. We are very precautious to insure that no acid residues are left in the pool tiles after we have left.

Considerations
A downside of acid wash that you should consider is that it’s a procedure that should not be done on a regular basis. At Tulsa Pool Cleaner we recommend to do this procedure once every five years. Otherwise, the acid can start damaging the plaster coating on the inside of the pool and it will affect your tiles. Another inconvenience to consider is that once the acid wash is done, it cannot be used for 24 hours. Which is why we like to recommend to our clients to schedule their acid wash during the winter season.
